Committed To Our Community
As your Federation of Students President, I promised to engage not only the student body, but our faculty, staff, and alumni in all aspects of student life – academic, extra-curricular, and social.
This past year has been an exceptional one. From deferring Orientation 2010 to the developing the Student Services Complex and Health Services Expansion, or defeating Saturday midterms, there have been endless issues and opportunities affecting the student experience at Waterloo.
Over the past five years, I have familiarized myself with many aspects of student life in our community. At Waterloo, I have held the elected position of President of the Federation of Students and Arts Student Union, a Don at UWP, and captain of the UW varsity cheerleading team. I am ready to continue my responsibilities, complete exciting new projects and test some new initiatives that I have developed as your President.
My diverse and comprehensive experiences have allowed me to develop insights into the many issues students face on a daily basis, but also into the potential for our student body to effect change and better our campus for future generations.
I can relate to the importance of strong academic support and the need for extracurricular involvement. In my experience, it is the surrounding community which fosters the success and enjoyment of one’s time spent here.
